How credits and privacy work

Four document workflows

AI PDF Assistant explains and drafts from your document. Chat with PDF answers questions with page references. AI PDF Summarizer summarizes selected pages. Translate returns translated text in the panel; it does not replace the original PDF layout.

Usage-based credits

One credit represents US$0.001 at the standard reference token rates configured by Farino. Input/output USD per million tokens: assistant $0.1 / $0.5; chat $0.1 / $0.5; summarize $0.1 / $0.5; translate $0.1 / $0.5. A successful request costs at least one credit. Review the maximum reservation before sending. Actual reported token usage determines the charge; unused reservations are released. Provider cache or off-peak discounts do not change these standard reference rates.

Expiry and shared balances

Each pack expires 30 days after payment confirmation. Additional packs have their own expiry dates and do not extend earlier packs. Credits expiring first are used first. Organization administrators can buy a shared wallet for active members. Choose personal or organization credits separately in the desktop app.

Reseller orders

Resellers select their own customer, order at the reseller price and pay. Farino verifies payment and credits the customer directly. Resellers cannot access customer documents or AI conversations.

Document privacy

AI requires internet. After consent, selected page text and your message travel over HTTPS to Farino and the configured AI provider. Only send sensitive information when your organization permits it. PDF content and prompts are not stored in audit logs. Temporary responses are encrypted and available for up to 24 hours for connection recovery; server maintenance removes them. Billing records retain credits, timestamps, status and token counts for reconciliation.

Failed or interrupted requests

Failed requests release their reservation. Use Check response after a connection interruption to retrieve the same request without sending twice. A server-interrupted reservation is recovered after ten minutes by the next access or scheduled maintenance.

Verify the answer

AI can make mistakes. Check page citations and important numbers against the source PDF. Image-only pages need Recognize Text first. Choose smaller page ranges to control credit usage.
