Answers before you start.
Licensing, local document tools and account support, explained clearly.
Is Farino PDF a subscription?
No. Pro, Business and Enterprise are perpetual editions. New purchases include the first year of maintenance unless your accepted order states otherwise. Pro is US$50 and Business is US$100; Enterprise is quoted by sales.
What happens when maintenance ends?
You can continue using releases covered by your entitlement. Releases, minor updates and patches published after maintenance expires require renewal. One-year maintenance renewal is US$32 for Pro and US$70 for Business. Maintenance does not add device slots.
Why does the app use an account?
The account connects your purchase, license and devices. Redeem a purchased key in the portal, then sign in from the app through your browser. The app can remember the account for 120 days since successful renewal; sign out, security changes or revocation can require another login.
Can I work offline?
Document tools run locally. Paid activation and periodic license verification require internet access. A signed offline entitlement lasts up to seven days under the current policy. A remembered account session is separate from this verification window.
Can I change computers?
Deactivate an old installation in My Devices before activating a replacement. The device limit comes from your license. Contact support if the old computer is unavailable or you reach a reset limit.
How do the OCR modes differ?
Fast prioritises speed and smaller models. Accurate uses a stronger text-recognition model for complex scans. Smart Document adds document-layout and table analysis. PaddleOCR requires Windows 64-bit and its local engine/model package. Large layouts need more memory; always review names, dates and numbers.
Will Word conversion be identical to the PDF?
PDF stores positioned content rather than Word’s editable layout rules. Farino PDF reconstructs text, tables and images, but complex documents can need manual corrections. Try representative files before relying on a conversion for critical work.
Are my PDFs uploaded for activation?
No. Activation exchanges account, license and device information. Local editing and OCR do not require sending the document to the license server. Files you choose to send to support are a separate, deliberate transfer.
What are the refund terms?
Purchases are final for a change of mind under the License Agreement. This does not exclude mandatory consumer remedies or review of duplicate charges, unauthorised transactions and material discrepancies.
Where can I get help?
Use Support in the customer portal or contact sales@farinopdf.com. Include your app version and a description of the problem, but never send passwords, private keys or authentication codes.
