Organize PDF pages
This article shows how to organize PDF pages: change their order, rotate them, delete them, add blank pages, and insert pages from another PDF. Organize Pages, Merge, and Split are available in the free edition since version 1.62.1.
Page commands on the Tools tab
All page commands are on the Tools tab. Open a PDF first, then click the Tools tab.
For work that involves many pages, use Organize Pages. For a quick change to one page, use the single commands described at the end of this article.
Organize Pages
Tools › Organize Pages shows all pages as a thumbnail grid in the main work area. Changes in the grid are temporary until you click Apply changes.
Select, rotate, and delete pages
- Click a thumbnail to select the page. The selected page has a colored frame.
- Point to a thumbnail. Three buttons appear in its top-right corner: Rotate left, Rotate right, and Delete page.
- Click the button you need. Each rotate click turns the page 90 degrees.
The document must keep at least one page.
Change the page order
You can move pages in three ways:
- Drag a thumbnail to a new position.
- Select a page, enter the position number in Move selected to, then click Move.
- Focus a thumbnail with the keyboard, then press
Alt+LeftorAlt+Right.
Insert pages
- Select a page to use as the reference point.
- In the Insert list, choose After selected page, Before selected page, or At end.
- Click Insert Blank Page to add an empty page. It uses the size of the selected page.
- Or click Insert Pages from PDF, then choose another PDF. All of its pages are inserted at the chosen position.
Inserted pages are labeled Inserted, and you can move, rotate, or delete them like any other page. The combined size of the source files is limited to 500 MB.
Apply or discard your changes
- Apply changes applies the new arrangement to the active tab. The grid closes and the document shows the new order.
- Reset changes discards all changes that are not applied and reloads the original arrangement.
- Back to document hides the grid. Changes that are not applied are still there when you open Organize Pages again, as long as the document content has not changed.
After Apply changes, you can still reverse it with Undo in the title bar (Ctrl+Z). To write the result to disk, use File › Save or Save As.
Single page commands
These commands work directly on the active document. You can reverse each of them with Undo.
