Account and licensing
This article explains how to manage your Farino PDF licenses in the customer portal on farinopdf.com. It also covers maintenance for perpetual licenses and checking for updates in the app.
Open the customer portal
- Go to the customer portal and sign in with your email address and password.
- From the app, you can also click the account button in the title bar and choose Customer portal.
The Overview page shows your active licenses, devices in use, the next maintenance end date and open orders. The My licenses table lists each license with its key, devices and maintenance status.
The menu on the left contains Overview, My licenses, Buy a license, Orders, Team, Notifications and Account. Use the language button at the bottom to switch between English and Bahasa Indonesia.
My licenses
Open My licenses to see the details of each license:
- Product Name & Version: the edition, the version included in your maintenance plan, the license volume and who the license belongs to.
- Your Serial Key: the license key, with buttons to copy it and to download an offline activation file.
- Additional Information: purchase date, order number and Maintenance Plan Expires, plus a button to download the installer.
- Actions: Extend Maintenance, Send serial key to me and the Activations list.
To add a key you bought from a reseller, click Redeem a key at the top of the page.
Devices and activations
Each computer that activates a license uses one device slot. To see them, click Activations list on the license. The button shows how many slots are in use, for example (1/1).
The list shows each computer's name, Windows version and when it was last seen.
Release a device
Release a device when you replace a computer or reinstall Windows.
- In My licenses, click Activations list on the license.
- Click Release next to the computer.
- Confirm. The computer stops using the license at its next check, and you can activate another PC.
You can also release the current computer from the app by signing out. If you reach the release limit, the portal shows Device release limit reached. Contact support.
Maintenance and renewal
Pro, Business and Enterprise are perpetual licenses. A new purchase includes one year of maintenance.
- During maintenance, you receive every new version released in that period.
- When maintenance ends, your license keeps working with the versions released during maintenance. It does not expire.
- To receive later versions, renew maintenance. Renewing does not add devices.
To renew, open My licenses and choose Extend Maintenance for 1 or 2 years, if both are offered, then click Add to cart. The portal creates an order with payment details.
In the app, the License Key dialog shows the maintenance end date. When 30 days or fewer remain, it shows a reminder with a Manage maintenance link, and a Maintenance: button with the days left appears in the title bar.
Orders and invoices
Open Orders to see your orders with their date, total and status.
- Click View on an order to see its details.
- For an unpaid order, follow the payment instructions, enter a payment note and click I have paid. The order waits until the payment is confirmed.
- For a paid order, click Invoice to open the invoice, or Go to my licenses.
Your invoice uses the details in Account, such as company name and tax ID (NPWP).
Team
Team is available with Business and Enterprise licenses. Create a team, add licenses to a shared pool and invite colleagues. Colleagues sign in to Farino PDF with their own accounts and activate from the pool, so you do not need to hand out keys.
Check for updates
- In Farino PDF, click Help › Check for Updates.
- The License Key dialog opens and checks for a newer version.
The result depends on your license:
- If a newer version is covered, a dialog shows the version and a Download & install button. Farino PDF downloads and verifies the installer, then starts setup. Your open documents stay open until setup asks you to save.
- If you have the latest version, the dialog says that Farino PDF is up to date.
- If no newer update is covered, it says No newer update covered by your license is available.
- If a newer version was released after your maintenance ended, it says the update is outside your maintenance entitlement. Your licensed version keeps working.
You can also click Updates at the bottom of the License Key dialog. To install a version manually, see Install Farino PDF.
